1 Dead, 2 Seriously Injured in Car Vs. Pedestrian Crash in Koreatown

July 28, 2014

Early Monday morning on the 4000 block of Beverly Boulevard, three cars and three pedestrians were involved in a deadly crash. A white pickup truck ran a red light, clashed with a grey Toyota Camry, hopped the curb, and hit three pedestrians. The Toyota continued to collide with a BMW, which received minimal damage.

A male pedestrian in his 40s was declared dead at the scene. The two other pedestrians were rushed to County-USC Medical Center, where they remain in critical condition.

The drivers of both the Toyota and BMW waited for officials to arrive at the scene, while the driver of the truck fled on foot after the accident. The male pickup truck driver is reported to be Hispanic, about 30-35 years old, 5’6″ tall, and wearing a red shirt and black pants. The LAPD has stated that he is wanted for felony hit-and-run.
