1 Dead, 3 Injured in Sunset Boulevard Crash; Victim ID’d as Santa Monica Woman

July 19, 2014

This terrible accident transpired in the 10200 block of Sunset, near Beverly Glen Boulevard, causing a temporary closure of the area. A blue Maserati, traveling westbound on Sunset, for an undiscovered reason, crossed the double line and collided with a blue Honda that was headed eastbound.

According to the Fire Department, the Honda driver was determined to be dead at the scene and two of her passengers experienced a reasonable amount of injuries. The driver was identified as Sheri Myers Olmon, a 54 year old woman who resided in Santa Monica.

The driver of the Maserati is a man in his 50s, who endured minor injuries from the collision.

Alcohol is said not to be a contributing factor in the accident, but authorities are sure that speed was. Against numerous efforts, speed has always been an issue on Sunset, but authorities continue to warn drivers of the dangers of driving faster than safety conditions permits.
