Tragic Loss of Kseniya Alexandrova: When Wildlife Becomes a Deadly Threat

The global beauty and modeling community is in mourning after the heartbreaking passing of Kseniya Alexandrova, former Miss Russia 2017 and Miss Universe contestant. She tragically lost her life at 30 following a freak roadside accident on July 5, 2025, when an elk suddenly leapt onto the M9 highway in Tver Oblast, Russia, and smashed through the windshield of the Porsche in which she was a passenger. The elk’s impact caused catastrophic brain trauma, and despite being hospitalized in the ICU at Moscow’s Sklifosovsky Institute, she never regained consciousness and passed away on August 12.

Her husband, who was driving, survived with fewer injuries—both were wearing seatbelts. He later recounted the harrowing moment: “A split second passed… she was unconscious… everything was covered in blood,” he shared.

A native of Moscow, Kseniya began her modeling career at age 19 with the Modus Vivendis agency and quickly rose to prominence. She captured national attention as the first runner-up in the Miss Russia 2017 pageant and represented her country at Miss Universe 2017. Beyond modeling, she was a dedicated psychologist, earning a degree from Moscow Pedagogical State University in 2022. Just months before the accident, she joyfully married in March 2025.

Tributes poured in from all corners. The Miss Universe Organization honored her memory with a moving tribute video, highlighting her grace, kindness, and the strength she embodied. Her agency remembered her as “bright, talented, extraordinarily radiant… a symbol of beauty, kindness, and inner strength”.

While collisions with wildlife are rare, they can be devastating. This accident serves as a poignant reminder that even well-protected passengers can suffer fatal injuries. Victims and families face sudden trauma, confusion, and the burden of medical and funeral costs.

At Makkabi Law Group, we understand how complex such cases can become, especially when negligence or insufficient safety measures play a role. With expertise in wrongful death and personal injury law, we offer support to families navigating:
